Panel installation and upgrades that keep up with your home

Older panels were built for a smaller electrical life. If yours is full, undersized, or tripping, a panel upgrade gives todays home the capacity it needs, done to code and inspected.

Signs your panel needs attention

  • Breakers trip often

A panel that is out of capacity trips as you add modern loads.

  • You are adding a big load

An EV charger, hot tub, addition, or new HVAC can push an older panel past its limit.

  • Fuses or an old brand

Fuse boxes and certain older panels are worth evaluating for safety and capacity.

  • No room to add circuits

A full panel leaves no safe way to add what you need next.

  • Signs of heat or corrosion

Scorching, rust, or a warm panel cover should be assessed promptly.

What is included

  • A load assessment

We calculate what your home actually draws and what the new work will add, so the answer is grounded, not a guess. Sometimes the honest answer is that you do not need an upgrade.

  • Right-sized service

Commonly 100-amp or 200-amp service, sized to your homes real and planned load.

  • Clean circuit labeling

Every circuit clearly labeled so the next person, including you, is not guessing.

  • Permit and inspection coordination

We pull the permit when required and schedule the inspection.

Permits, code, and inspection

Panel work is permitted work. We pull the permit when the job requires it, coordinate with the local authority having jurisdiction, and schedule the inspection so the finished work is signed off. Unpermitted electrical work can create problems at resale, complicate an insurance claim, and leave you holding the liability. We handle this the right way so you do not have to think about it.

What happens after you reach out

  • 1. Assessment

We evaluate the existing panel, run a load calculation, and confirm what the upgrade involves.

  • 2. Written quote

You get a scoped, clear price before any work is scheduled.

  • 3. Permit

We pull the permit and coordinate with the utility where a disconnect is needed.

  • 4. Install

We install and land the new panel and circuits, cleanly labeled.

  • 5. Test and inspection

We test the work and schedule the inspection for sign-off.

What affects the price

  • Service size

100-amp versus 200-amp service and the panel selected.

  • Meter and mast work

Whether the meter, mast, or service entrance also needs work.

  • Utility coordination

Some upgrades require the utility to disconnect and reconnect.

  • Circuit count and condition

How many circuits move over and the condition of the existing wiring.

What affects the timeline

A straightforward panel swap is often a one-day job on site, plus scheduling around the permit, the inspection, and any utility disconnect. We give you the realistic sequence up front. If the utility has to be involved, that step is outside our control and we tell you so.

Scope: Residential and commercial panel installation, upgrades, and replacements across Columbia and Mid-Missouri.

Questions homeowners ask

Not always. We run a load assessment and tell you plainly. If your panel has the capacity and is safe, we will say so. The upgrade is the fix when the panel is full, undersized, or unsafe, not a default recommendation.

It depends on your homes real and planned load. Many homes adding an EV charger, HVAC, or an addition move to 200-amp service, but the load calculation is what decides it, not a rule of thumb.

We do. We pull the permit when the work requires it, coordinate with the local jurisdiction, and schedule the inspection.

For part of the job, yes. We plan the outage window with you and, where the utility must disconnect, we coordinate that timing.
